A bronze and granite seat which encircles the sitter in a ring of stone, creating a sense of heightened and charged spatial awareness.
As with many of my pieces, I employed the inspiration of a circle – a shape with no beginning or end.
In some ways, the focal work of ‘Of Space and Time’, was originally designed as a viewfinder as it created a vantage point for the journey I hoped to take viewers on.
The work was cut from an 8-ton granite boulder into 150 mm slabs that were then shaped and smoothed by hand, producing finely honed curves that invite the human touch.
